UK IT getting more outsourcing-oriented
A poll by PMP Research has shown that more than half (56%) of the UK organizations surveyed indicated plans to increase outsourcing spending over the next two years. Nearly a third of the respondents (31%) have said that their investments would remain the same. The percentage of those who decided to cut investments stood at 11%.
PMP Research’s survey showed that access to specialist skills and the desire to focus on the core business served as key drivers for user investment.
Outsourcing makes up a large part of most companies’ total IT budget: nearly 3 in 10 allocated between 10% - 25% of the budget to outsourcing, while 13% set aside anywhere from a fourth to half of the annual IT budget for third-party providers.
