Security programs for India's contact centers
Nasscom has unveiled its answer to the growing cry for heightened security: it aims to eradicate data fraud within the call center circuit by compiling employees’ work history.
India’s main software trade body, the National Association of Software and Service Companies (NASSCOM) will be launching the pilot run in a number of participating call centers. Records of volunteer agents will be controlled by a government-mandated electronic repository, the National Securities Depository Ltd and would lay groundwork for future screenings by prospective employers. Participation for this pilot run would be on a voluntary basis though it is anticipated to be implemented as a requirement for employment.
Another group tasked by the government to curb data fraud has forwarded proposals to expedite prosecution of perpetrators of outsourcing crime particularly those caught buying or selling outsourced data.
